Learning to swim and water safety is considered a prerequisite for children living on the Sunshine Coast.
At NCC Swimmers, we know the importance of keeping children safe, being confident in and around water and assisting swimmers to take it to the next level.

about us
NCC’s Swimmers centre provides a range of group learning and developmental classes catering for all ages and abilities, from six months to adults, in a pleasantly heated pool all year round. Classes are held daily by our qualified and experienced instructors in a relaxed and safe environment.
Integral to our class structure is the promotion of water awareness, confidence, independence, water safety, stroke development and fitness. Living on the Sunshine Coast, our children are surrounded by a variety of water activities, and to ensure they grow up confident and capable, we recommend parents enrol them in classes from a young age. Classes are offered on a term basis, and students must reach a minimum competency to progress to the next level.

Pool Manager
I was born in the UK and moved to Australia when I was five, before returning to the UK at age ten. I moved back to Australia when I was 19 and later spent 18 months living in New Zealand before having my two children, who are now older teenagers. I have lived on the beautiful Sunshine Coast for the past 18 years.
I’ve been a swim teacher for 12 years and have owned and operated my own small swim school, Inclusive Aquatic Insights, for nearly five years.
I also have a strong background in disability and inclusion, having worked as a therapy assistant in a daycare setting and as a teacher aide at Nambour Special School. During my time at the school, I taught swimming and developed a school-wide swimming program to help make swimming accessible, engaging, and meaningful for all students.
One of the things I’m most passionate about is working with swimmers who may experience fear, anxiety, or sensory concerns around the water.
When I’m not at the pool, I enjoy playing board games with my friends and children. I am currently training for my 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do alongside my kids. I also love spending time at the beach, especially walking and swimming with my dog, as well as relaxing with a good TV show or movie.

Development Over Winter
There are many great benefits to continuing your child’s aquatic education during the colder months. Contrary to popular belief it is actually impossible to catch a cold just because it is cold outside! For your little one to get sick they must first come in contact with the cold or flu virus to ‘catch it’. Many families decide to unenrol … …

My boys love swimming at NCC swimmers, the staff are friendly, professional and they really care for each child. The teachers focus on each child’s swimming needs and I have seen improvements in their swimming ability in such a short time. I especially feel reassured that at home in the pool and at the beach that my younger boys have learnt confidence and are more understanding of water safety, while my older boy is being extended in his swimming ability.
