Frequently Asked Questions

Is the pool heated and indoors?

Yes. Our swim school is indoors and heated to 32 degrees all year round.

What times and days do you have available?

Depending on your child’s age, we have lessons available Monday to Friday mornings from 8.30am and Monday to Friday afternoons from 3.00 pm. Depending on the demand, we may open classes on Saturday morning.

What level will my child be in?

To ensure your child is placed in a class that best suits their needs, we provide a FREE assessment class for every child over 3 years of age. We also offer a free trial for all children under 3 so that we can help you get the most out of your classes.

How long are the lessons?

All our learn to swim classes go for 30 minutes. Our ‘Mini Squad’ class is 45min in duration.

How many children in a class?

Our class sizes vary depending on experience and independence. Our Parent and Baby and Parent and Toddler classes have a maximum of 6 per class (plus parent). Our water confidence classes start from 3 children per class.

If I miss a lesson what happens?

In our Learn To Swim Program we offer a free make-up lesson if you phone prior to the missed lesson. All make-up lessons must be used by the end of term. We will only offer credits under extreme medical conditions, with the presentation of a medical certificate. We do not offer refunds for change of circumstance.

What do we need to bring along?

Parents in the pool with their young child require a t-shirt in the pool. All infants must wear an aqua nappy and t-shirt/rash short. Children over 3 years must wear togs, swim cap and goggles (compulsory). The wearing of a rash/swim shirt is optional.

My child attends NCC. Can he/she walk down and have their lesson directly after school?

All children must have a parent/carer within the complex whilst their lessons are conducted. This is condition of enrolment. Swim Teachers and Learn to Swim management are not employed as lifeguards, and should not be treated as such.

Can my child swim in the pool whist they wait for their lesson?

No. Public swimming is not permitted during lesson times for the safety of all patrons. Children and parents are not to enter the pool until their lesson is due to commence. Entrance to the pool is through the ‘entrance’ gate at the kiosk, and exit through the ‘exit’ gate, closest to the female toilets.
